The Ladies had a slight hiccup with their games this week, losing ten to two away against the City of Wells and again to Frome Selwood on Thursday.
However, in the County League on Saturday, our men’s team excelled themselves winning on all rinks in some very exciting, very close games.
The win gave us twelve points and brings the team to the top of the division with no other games to play. This is an excellent end to this seasons competition for the gentlemen, who also took the David Bendall Cup. I look forward to reporting on our progress next season.
Sunday 3rd September saw the club, as it has done multiple times in recent years, open its doors to those attending the Double Hills memorial service, many of whom travel long distances to remember and pay tribute to past comrades, relatives or to remember the fallen.
Refreshment, food, relief and a place to change costume were provided to all who attended. This is a constantly growing and evolving event for the club and we look forward to giving this succour to those in need in future years.
Finally. there is a Macmillan Coffee morning at 10am on Friday 8th, please do come along and support it. A.J Meaton
