MIDSOMER Norton are up to second in the Bristol/Somerset Division of the West of England Premier Cricket League after beating Keynsham by six wickets.

Put into bat, the home side began confidently with openers Tom Bancroft and Will Burston putting on 60 before Bancroft was out for ten.

Burston would go on to become the dominant batter of the innings and was still there after 50 overs, having scored exactly 100 - which included nine fours and two sixes. Jake Carstens scored 26 and shared in a second wicket stand of 53 with Burston as Keynsham scored 192-8. ..

Paul Robbins was the pick of the Midsomer Norton bowlers with 3-26 from his ten overs, while Callum Harvey took 2-31 and Jake Roberts 2-16.

The visitors lost Robbins with only one run scored and Roberts at 18, plus two more before reaching 100.

Finn Kelsey held the early innings together with 30, while Harvey and NIck Pang knocked off the runs required with an unbeaten fifth-wicket partnership of 94 with both batters scoring 51 not out.

Harvey knocked six boundaries, including two sixes, while Pang hit three sixes.

Carstens bowled tidily for Keynsham, ending with figures of 3-24.
