BIG-HITTING Will Smeed has signed a new white ball only contract with Somerset while another former Academy player Lewis Goldsworthy is heading out on loan to Leicestershire.
Smeed, who is 22 years old, made his T20 debut in 2020, scoring 82 in his second match, since when he has developed into an explosive opening batter.
Will's new contract will see him remain at Taunton until at least the end of the 2026 season.
Goldsworthy is a 23-year-old right handed batter and left arm spin bowler who made his Somerset T20 debut in 2020 and his First Class and List 'A' debuts in 2021.
