SOMER Valley Cycling Club (SVCC) is inviting cyclists of all abilities to take part in its Mendip Madness sportive on Sunday, April 14 with all proceeds donated to Avon Air Ambulance.

This will be the 13th year the club has run the popular event. It offers the choice of 60 or 40-mile routes over the Mendips, with stunning views of the surrounding countryside.

Both circular routes start at Ston Easton Village Hall at 9am with the longer route taking in Cheddar Gorge and the Somerset Levels. Facilities provided include refreshments at the start; feed stations en-route; GPX routes; emergency backup; free tea, coffee and cakes at the finish line; and a finisher’s certificate.

Book your place online at British Cycling for just £8 per entry. Entries on the day are £10.

Event organiser Guy Worsdall comments: “This sportive aims to take riders to parts of the Mendips that others don’t. We can’t promise great weather, but we can promise fantastic routes with panoramic views of the best in the West - and some great cakes. We hope the choice of two fantastic routes will encourage riders of all abilities to take part in a great day out on bikes.”
