FOSSEWAY Golf Club enjoyed a great day on Saturday when members from the main club joined the Seniors for a triples Texas Scramble event. Forty players turned up for the likely annual competition which was held for the first time in 2023.
The winning three with a gross score of 59 were Ben Josham, Keith Doman and Paul Ellis. Dean Brook, Matt Rundle and Paul Trigg came second with a gross 62, with Steve Jones, Roger Franklin and John Bendle third with a gross 65. Thanks go to Dave Josham and John Fuller for putting the popular event together.
Seniors’ competitions for the February and March medals also took place. Richard Dancey took the February medal with a nett score of 60. Two shots behind came Paul Trigg with Graham Edgell third with a nett 65.
Seniors’ competition secretary Chris Appleton and Allen Cheney took first two places in the March medal. Appleton pipped Cheney by one shot carding a fine round of 76 (nett 61) with his 15 handicap proving pivotal with Cheney also going round in 76 but with a nett score of 62. The best round of the day came from Martyn Cuer who recorded a gross 73 (nett 63) to finish in third place.
