Mendip’s 3-man Texas Scramble saw a win for Cameron Elliott, Tim Flagg and Nick Hodges with a fine 59 on count back from the father and sons team of Nicholas, Alec and Ben Roberts. Third with 60 were Alan Deverill, Dan Rowe and James White.

Nearest the Pin went to Scott Butland with Ian Vincent second and Steven Pugh third.

The Ladies weekend Stableford was won by Anita Butcher with 32 points with Alison Kay second with 31 and Susy Rudkin third with 30. The Ladies 2-person Scramble was won by Jean Padfield and Ann Padley with 71 and they were followed by Jenny Merrett and Edwina Willis with 76 and Anita Butcher playing with Pauline Williams were third with 78.

The Mixed Team entertained Bath on a very sunny October day and after a very close run affair, went down 3½-4½. Winning for Mendip were Elaine and Rob Richardson, Vicky Hicks and Tom Rowland and Allison and Peter Rumming. Team Captain Ann Padley, playing with husband Derek, gained a half.

Eighteen past ladies captains held their annual event followed by an excellent meal prepared by Steve and his team.

Despite the gloomy forecast, the rain stayed away until play had finished. Patricia Rawlins, no longer a member returned for the first time after several years and it proved to be a winning return.
