Farrington Park Golf Club: At long last, after a number of weeks of torrential rain it finally stopped, only to be replaced by plummeting temperatures and freezing conditions.
More than seventy Senior golfers braved the wintery weather well wrapped up and totally unrecognisable! Who knows who was out there it could have been Rory McIlroy or Sir Ranulph Fiennes!
It certainly wasn’t easy playing a Tennessee Waltz. The Strictly judges would not have been impressed with our lack of movement.
Half a dozen teams registered scores of 80-plus points. The later tee times benefitting from the more favourable conditions.
Results were as follows:
First: Pete Ross, Steve Banfield and Dave J Millington with 84 points.
Second: Andy Snook, Ian Clement and Jeff Kelly witg 83 points.
Third: Kirk Bizley, Jerry Musselwhite and Steve Buxton 83 points.
Fourth: Jon Coates, Fraser McGregor and Mel Field 82 points.
Fifth: Nigel Punchard, Geoff Cabral and Mark Greenman 80 points.
Sixth: Ham Ridene, Mike Mahoney and Steve Coles 80 points.
There were fifteen 2 spots the majority (10) as a result of the par three 5th hole being a temporary green only 100 yards away!
Nearest the pin on 8th was Dave Brown and in two on 14th Jon Coates.
