Mendip Golf Club: Ninety eight competitors took part in Mendip’s Turkey Trot 4 Ball + Bonus Ball event which saw very high winning scores. 

Father and son pairing of John and Andrew Shakesby were 5th with 51 points being the best of 7 pairings with the same score. Nigel Cheshire and Martin Wilkins were 4th with 54 beaten on count back by brothers Alec and Ben Roberts. Adam Deverill and Dan Rowe were 2nd with 56 points but the clear winners with 59 points were another father and son pairing Dean and Henry Lewer.

Nearest the Pin was won for the second week running by Tom Rowland with Josh Wintrup 2nd and Gary Quin 3rd.

Despite the heavy rain in the preceding two days the course held up well  to allow the Seniors 3 Clubs and a Putter Competition to take place. Apart from a few very wet areas, the majority of the fairways and all of the greens showed the resilience of the Course even in the extremely heavy rain we have been having for a number of weeks. 86 players took part and the scores showed that 4 clubs is quite enough rather than the 14 we normally use!

Division 3 was won by John Smith with 39 points, Michael Phillips was 2nd with 35 and Mike Lill 3rd with 34. Div 2 went to Drew Foley with 35 points after count back from Phil Bendall and Alan O’Leary with Div 1 going to David Jukes with a splendid 41 points with Kevin Keene 2nd with 39 and Simon Grant 3rd with 36.
