PAULTON Rovers are the latest Jewson Western League club to host a fundraising collection for a local Mind charity.

Western League officials joined Becki Fox, Fundraising Manager at Bath Mind, at Rovers’ Premier Division clash with St Blazey.

Paulton chairman, Dave Bissex, was presented with specially designed posters to hang in the changing rooms, promoting the support services Paulton’s players can use if they need help with mental wellbeing issues.

Dave said: “I spent some time talking to Becki about Bath Mind, and I had no idea how much they do. Bath Mind does a fantastic job supporting people with their mental wellbeing, and I’m very proud that our club has done its bit to support their important work.”

During the game, Becki Fox was joined by Western League Communications Officer and former Somer Valley FM Sport Show presenter Ian Nockolds, who met with fans, collected money, and discussed the support services Bath Mind provides.

Becki Fox, Fundraising Manager at Bath Mind, said:“We are delighted to be partnering with the Western Football League again to champion mental health and wellbeing within the football community. The donations we receive from this partnership will help us continue providing life-changing mental health support across Bath and North East Somerset. Together, we can challenge stigma, promote open conversations, and ensure that no one faces their mental health challenges alone.”

Western League Chairman, John Pool, said:“We started fundraising at our clubs for Bath Mind in February 2022, and it says a lot about our clubs' commitment to this cause that we are still fundraising today. The mental wellbeing of the players, club volunteers, and supporters is something we take very seriously, and I will always do everything I can to support this important campaign.”

Supporters raised just over one hundred pounds, bringing the Western League’s total to £4,853.36 on the day.
