The annual Charity Trophy in the Seniors section of Fosseway Golf Club was well supported by members and together with the £300 raised from the sale of former member Nick Foxwell’s clubs will enable £427 to be sent to the RUHX Appeal .

The pairs Texas Scramble event was won by Malcolm Emery who was playing his first match in the Seniors section and his partner Shaun Goodwin (pictured right) who recorded a creditable nett score of 59. In second place came Paul Trigg and Paul Ellis with 61 with Cyril Blacker and Alan White third with a nett 62.

Trigg is certainly making a mark in his first season with the Seniors and has just captured the Winter League title after beating Blacker in a closely contested final. In the third place play-off last year’s player of the year White defeated Goodwin.

The finalists for the Guerwyn Thomas Trophy have now been established. In the semi-finals Graham Edgell and Malcolm Tucker defeated Chris Appleton and Brian Phelps 3&2 and Pat Cray and Mike Weeks finished two up on Richard Dancey and Richard Sullivan.
