WELLS Golf Club seniors held a 4-ball Bowmaker in which 68 took part. At last it was a good day for golf after what has been a terrible winter with competitions being affected by the bad weather. Due to the recent wet spell the course was understandably playing very long for this event.
In third place, with 79 points, were Chris Clegg, Mark Abrahams, Phil Spring and Stephen Payne. In second place with 80 points were Jim Lunt, Donald Perry, Andrew Green and Peter Cherry.
Squeaking into first place with a score of 81 points in what was a good competition were Frank Budds, Phil Bryant, Simon Harris and Paul Hole.
The Ladies Section enjoyed dry weather for a change for their March Madness team event. The format was a Bowmaker Walt played over a full eighteen holes. The winners were Katrina Foote, Lorraine Collings and Julie Hill who were closely followed home in second place by Sandy Heath, Marilyn Cole and Maria Edwards, who all received chocolate prizes.
