IT was a good win for Norton Radstock Amateur Boxing Club over the weekend.
This time it was 14-year-old Michael Gregory, a pupil of Somervale School, boxing on the Exmouth show. With a beautiful sunny backdrop, he was up against Rhys Aldridge, a strong lad from Sturminster Newton.
After a cagey start to round one, Michael went on to dominate rounds two and three showing a great variation of attacking skills and slick defensive moves. At the conclusion all judges went with a unanimous decision in favour of Michael, with Aldridge being the first to congratulate him in a great show of sportsmanship.
Coach Sean Jenkins said: “Michael showed me a lot of the good things we’ve worked on in the gym tonight especially his defensive skills which I was really impressed with. He’s improving all the time and will only get better and its another good win for the team which is always good for moral and team bonding.”
