MORE than 50 men played in Mendip Golf Club’s Mid Week Stableford which saw a win for John Hugill with 36 points.

Justin May was 2nd with 35 after count back from Mark Smith and Stephen Lake.  +1 handicap Aimee Sawyer won the Ladies Prize with a level par net 76.

The Ladies Barbara Jose Medal event saw a win in Division 3 for Anne Collins with a net 80 with Annette Jobbins 2nd with 83 after count back. Div 2 went to Corinne Durbin with 78 and Louise Scott was 2nd with 81. Lynne Vowles was 2nd in Division 1 with an excellent net 77.

However 1st in the division and winner of the trophy was Aimee Sawyer with  another Net 76.

Fourteen ladies played in the 9 hole Stableford which was won by Chis Olds with 16 points after count back from Sue Alcock.

The Alliance B team are finishing the season strongly, their latest win being 14-0 against Thornbury. Wins came from Lynne Vowles, Jenny Merrett, Maureen Charlton, Jane Ball, Fran Davies, Pauline Young and Edwina Willis.

The Ladies Friendly Team played Wells and went down to a narrow defeat 2.5 - 3.5. Successful for Mendip were Annette Jobbins / Louise Scott and Sue Needham /Min Woodward.
