The story this week, as with every Golf Club, is the constant battle against the weather and to keep the course playable.
Mendip has been fairly lucky in that regard with only two days closure. The weather has been truly dreadful. However, competitive play has continued, just, thanks to the efforts of the hard pressed Greens Staff.
Nearest the Pin went to Tony Logan with John Broxup second.
The ladies held a Mix Up Bowmaker that saw a win for Hilary Rowdon/Karen Cookson/Susy Rudkin/Annette Jobbins with 64, on count back from Lynn Cox/Val Dixon/Louise Scott/Victoria Hicks.
Ninety three men played the 3 Clubs and a Putter Turkey Trott event. Division One went to Spencer Pocock with Baden Wilkinson second, Dean Lewer third and David Goldie fourth. Division Two was won by James White, Colin Wiltshire was second, Tom Rowland was third and Rob Cook fourth. Division Three saw a win for Andrew Robinson with Martin Bottill second, Andrew Shakesby third and Paul Godwin fourth. The best score of the day was recorded by Andrew Robinson with an amazing forty eight points, eight clear of the next best. No doubt the Handicap Committee will have taken note!
