May’s Midsomer Norton Community free 5k run in the park took place on Coronation day with volunteers and participants dressing up in red white and blue.

The rain didn’t stop the fifty runners and walkers taking part and celebrating the start of the Coronation in style.

Amanda and Steve Bachrach have been there for every one of these events so qualified to have their picture taken behind the special Community 5k selfie frame. This can be used by anyone who has attended ten runs, either as a participant or a volunteer.

The event centre is at the Somer Centre in Midsomer Norton. Everyone is welcome for free coffee and cakes afterwards.

Welton Church Runners welcomes runners and walkers of all abilities every Saturday at 9am with the first Saturday being set aside for the unique event.
