MIDSOMER Norton ended their season in style with a 71-12 home win over Oldfield Old Boys in Counties Two Somerset.

Norton finished 36 points clear of second-placed Clevedon, having won 21 of their 22 matches.

Norton amassed 1185 points with 207 against, finishing with a plus-points record of 978, far more than any other team in the division.

Clevedon suffered a surprise 34-29 home defeat against Rebels Rugby but held on to second place, while Avon finished third following their big 51-14 away win over Imperial.

Minehead Barbarians came fourth after their received a walkover from Nailsea & Backwell who are in danger of relegation after coming second from bottom.

Wells finished bottom , losing their last match 40-0 away to Hornets - their 20th loss of the season.
