MIDSOMER Norton go marching on at the top of Counties Two Somerset.

They made it eight wins from nine matches when they beat fourth-placed Rebels Rugby 54-12 away to stay seven points clear of second-placed Minehead Barbarians.

The Barbarians made it seven wins from nine games but were given an unexpectedly tough game by St Bernadettes Old Boys who crashed 147-0 against Midsomer Norton in their previous game. The Babas won 35-24.

In other matches Clevedon won 36-15 at home to Chew Valley’s second string, while Hornets II were 46-0 winners at home to Oldfield Old Boys.

Imperial gained the biggest victory of the day, beating Nailsea & Backwell 70-15 at home while Avon won 26-8 away to Wells to go third in the table.

There are no league matches this coming Saturday, November 23, but Midsomer Norton have a top of the table clash away to Minehead Barbarians the following Saturday. Minehead are a particularly strong team when they play on home soil. Avon are home to fourth-placed Clevedon.
