Over the last two weeks, Paulton Rovers Netball have been busy starting the summer season off in fun fashion, entering the Wessex Blades Summer League and Time is Precious Tournament on 9th June.

Monday, 3rd June saw a rotational squad of nine take on Fitz in the Wessex Blades League, with players enjoying the chance to play out of position and

newcomers to competitive netball finding their feet.

The first half of the match started strongly for Paulton, keeping them in contention with the established Fitz team. However, during the second half, Fitz upped their level of competition and took control of the game for Paulton to lose by fifteen. Not to be deterred though, they played Westbury on 10th June in an exciting goal-for-goal match for the first three quarters. With neither team looking as if they could break away, the tension gathered in the fourth quarter with Paulton's stamina and skill breaking though to win 20–15.

Finally, members of the club had a fantastic afternoon at the Time is Precious Charity Tournament on Sunday, 9th June. With a rotational squad of thirteen, the girls played four games, losing two and winning two, to be drawn against friends, Paulton Midwives, in the play-off for third and fourth position. Paulton won to finish third in the competition and would like to thank Time is Precious for hosting a well-organised tournament for a fantastic cause.

Paulton Rovers is still running its Back to Netball programme aimed at those looking to get fit, have fun and rediscover old skills. Those interested in coming along should contact Victoria: 07735 507963 or just turn up on Wednesday, 7 p.m. at Paulton Rovers Football Club.
