DESPITE being without a large number of regular first team players Timsbury showed good form as they romped to a convincing ten wicket win away to Clevedon 2nd XI in the first division of the Bristol and District Cricket League.
The home side were dismissed for 86 - not nearly enough runs to pose a threat to the opposition - and acting captain Mark Sage and Greg Passingham guided Timsbury to victory in 18.2 overs. Sage ended 42 not out and Passingham was unbeaten on 33.
Earlier the visiting spinners had set up the win. Martin Richards recorded the impressive figures of 4-6 in 4.1 overs, Jon Strand took 2-16 and Sam Hoddinott 2-24.
Timsbury’s second eleven found it tough going at home to Bristol Aces and were beaten by eight wickets in Division Five of the Bristol and District League.
In a rain affected match Timsbury totalled 100-8 in their 33 overs with their main contributors being George Webb (21), acting skipper Adam Workman (20) and Neil Hulford (20).
The visitors raced to victory with Anas Ashfaq undefeated on 39 as the Aces reached their target in 15.5 overs.
