CHILDREN and their families are being invited to an ‘atmospheric Halloween’ train ride at Somerset and Dorset Railway, Midsomer Norton.
Children under the age of 16 in Halloween fancy dress will also travel free at the event on October 27.
The heritage railway will be operating its standard timetable with departures from 10.30am, 11.30am, 12.30pm, 2pm and 5pm.
There will also be Halloween activities and the shop and buffet will be open between 10am and 3.30pm.
Organisers recommend people book train tickets in advance, however, it is also possible to turn up on the day and buy a ticket, subject to availability,
Tickets cost £10 for adults, £5 for children aged four-16 or free if they are wearing a Halloween costume.
The railway prefers people to book tickets in advance (even if an advertised trip is free) so it has an idea on visitor numbers.
All children aged three and under travel free but of course may wear suitable costume as well. Tickets are considered All Day Rovers and therefore people can travel on as many trains as they would like.
