The team behind the Discover Frome website have put together a guide to 2025 which includes the events in store for the year ahead - from hyper-local celebrations to national campaigns.
The annual events guide is intended to provide residents with the opportunity to plan for the upcoming months, mark key dates in their diaries, and discover what Frome has to offer.
Cllr Mark Dorrington said: “Frome is lucky to have a wealth of creative and committed organisations, groups and communities who put on a host of fantastic events throughout the year. If you’re looking to get organised, this guide will give you a good idea of what is coming up for Frome in 2025, so get your family and friends involved, and let’s have a great year.”
The guide includes the ever-popular Donate IT tech amnesty event in early February, last January’s event saw 500 devices handed in to be wiped, refurbished and given a new lease of life.
February also heralds the lighting of the Valentine’s Lamp on 14th, with this year’s lamp-lighting ceremony signalling the changeover from the lamp’s creator and renovator Reg Ling to new lamplighter Eddie Young.
Reg Ling has led the ceremony since 1993, making it a notable Frome tradition. The town hosts a variety of festivals throughout the year, including the Kindness Festival in March, organised by The Good Heart, the Walking Festival later in the year, and the Frome Festival in July, which features a wide range of events.
Great Big Green Week, in June, encourages organisations big and small to support sustainability and tackle climate change, with events for all the family to get involved in.
Later in the year, expect festive magic with Frome’s Christmas Light Switch On and Lantern Parade, a firm favourite with locals.
