A schoolboy has been named UK Young Cartoonist of the Year 2025.
Artie Hicks, 11, from Chew Magna, was honoured by the British Cartoonists Association and the Cartoon Art Trust for his cartoon, The Brainless Boffins, in the Under 18 category.
Nicola Jennings, Chair of the British Cartoonists Association, praised Artie's work for its “incredibly humorous” nature, noting that it was “brilliantly drawn, with a great twist at the end.”

Artie, drew his inspiration from the world of science.
He said: “I thought, wouldn’t it be funny to see some scientists who aren’t as clever as expected.”
The young cartoonist attended the Award Ceremony in London with his family, where he collected his £250 prize, a certificate, and has his artwork displayed at the Cartoon Museum in London.
