STUART Tudball, who runs an upholstery business, is one of Somerset’s most dedicated supporters and spends much of the summer either involved with his local club or travelling the length and breadth of England watching his beloved county team in action.
You might think that in the winter he’d take a break but no, not, Stuart. His winters are spent catching up with his upholstery work in addition to which he is busy producing Somerset themed chairs for fund raising purposes.
“With this being Somerset’s 150th celebration year I have produced several themed chairs already , one of which I donated to the Somerset Cricket Museum which I think it resides close to the entry next door to the counter.
“The chair I donated to the Somerset Cricket Museum featured about 60 different past players.”
Stuart explained: “I get photographs and have them printed onto upholstery fabric and use that to cover chairs. Over the last few years I have donated a number of chairs to various worthy charities and they have auctioned them off to raise funds.”
Stuart went on: “I have done a few other things for Somerset CCC and I think that Richard Brice, the vice chair of the club, will be using them as part of the Somerset 150 fund raising events in 2025.”
Some of the charities to have benefitted from Stuart’s Somerset themed chairs are the Somerset Cricket Foundation who raised £1000 from the five chairs he donated, Somerset Mind, MND, and so many others.
Meanwhile Stuart is organising a group to go to use Richard Brice’s Hospitality Box and watch the second day of Somerset’s home championship match against Nottinghamshire on 30th June.
