THE all-girls football team from Pensford Primary School near Bristol are looking to net a big win this March and be crowned South West soccer champions.

Following their recent triumph as Somerset county winners in the Pokémon Primary Schools’ Cup finals, the footballers from years 4,5 and 6 will now go on to play in the South West finals in Keynsham.. They will be competing against schools from Cornwall, Devon, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Berkshire, Dorset, Hampshire and Oxfordshire for a chance to win and go on to represent the region in national finals.

Warrick Barton, Headteacher at Pensford Primary School said: ““We are so proud of the young footballers who, despite coming from a small school, have proved their skills on the pitch are unbeatable. To reach the regional finals, they’ve tackled the challenge of playing against larger schools across the county and still achieved their goal.”
