MIDSOMER Norton should chalk up their 11th victory of the season when they play at home to bottom side Taunton Deane in the Bristol/Somerset Division of the West of England Premier Cricket League on Saturday, August 3 (12 noon).
With only five matches remaining, Midsomer Norton are lying second in the table, 17points behind the leaders Downend.
Midsomer Norton’s opponents Taunton Deane have won only one of their 13 matches this season and will almost certainly be relegated.
Downend are home to Keynsham who gained a surprise seven-wicket home win over Congresbury which lifted them into seventh place, although they still have work to do to avoid relegation.
Meanwhile Golden Hill, in third spot, will be looking to bounce back after their loss against Downend last weekend when they play Ilminster, who are another side still not sure of retaining their status in the division.
Congresbury, who could still mathematically win the championship while promotion is within them, are home to Weston super Mare who have moved up to sixth in the table following their four-wicket home success against Wellington.
Wellington, who were unbeaten in the Somerset Division of the West of England League last season, now find themselves only one place above the Deane.
