SOMERSET County Cricket Club have invited female seam and spin bowlers from across the UK to attend a trial at the Cooper Associates County Ground on Friday, November 15.
The trial will allow talented players to showcase their skills and potentially earn a place in the Somerset Women’s squad. There has been rapid growth in women’s cricket and Somerset are are committed to finding out and understanding the talent that exists beyond the existing regional structure.
The club wants to offer opportunities to players who may not have had the chance to be seen by professional clubs before, or who may have developed later within their cricketing journey.
As the talent pool continues to expand, the club aims to cast a wider net beyond its traditional South West catchment area. These trials will provide players with a platform to showcase their skills in front of a professional coaching team and potentially take the next step toward a career in professional cricket.
To be eligible for the trials: Players must not be currently playing County Age Group cricket; Players cannot be involved in another Tier One Professional team, EPP or Academy.
This trial is intended for cricketers who demonstrate potential but have yet to engage with a formal professional cricket structure.
