THE Ladies’ Palmer Cup was played in warm, relatively dry conditions at Wells Golf Club, which made a change from all the wet weather of this year.
The 2023 medal winners and runners up in each division, Silver, Bronze and Copper, were eligible to play in the competition.
Erica Klim played a steady game with some accurate putting and won with nett 73. Janice White was runner-up with nett 76.
Wells ladies Alliance team travelled to Henbury for their third away fixture in a row. Although blustery conditions, everyone stayed dry and the course played well. Wells lost 6-8 with Glynis Slater, Philippa Gowen and Sandy Heath recording wins.
A full team of nine pairings played against Mendip Spring for a mixed friendly. The rain held off and Wells won overall by 6 matches to 3. A lovely meal was enjoyed after the game.
The Ladies’ Interclub League team travelled to Orchardleigh for their first match of the season. There was a glimpse of summer during the match! The course played long and there was a distinct home advantage. Well done to Erica Klim and Christine Jukes for winning their matches.
