Twenty five teams played in Mendip’s Bowmaker event. Winning with eighty one points were Spencer Pocock/Phil Leadbeater/Rob Cook, two ahead of Nigel Coleman/Rob Edney/Paul Lewis. Colin Wiltshire/Nigel Wiltshire/Simon Jefferies were third, also with seventy nine but beaten on countback.

Nearest the Pin went to Tom Black with Alec Roberts second and Tony Logan third.

Thirty three ladies played in the Macmillan qualifying Stableford, played in fairly tough conditions. However an excellent score of forty two points gave young Polly Jones the win with new to the game Victoria Hicks second with thirty nine. At the other end of the handicap scale Lady Captain Aimee Sawyer playing off +1 was third with thirty three points and Club President Nola Russell fourth with thirty two after a five-person countback.

The Ladies Alliance B Team went down 4-10 on a very wet day, wins from Fran Davies and Anita Butcher.

The Millington Salver Mixed 4bbb event attracted a excellent entry and saw some fine scoring. Glynn Haddock/Sarah James were the winners with forty three just beating Martin Wilkins/Lynn Jones by a single point. Victoria Hicks continued her progress and playing with Tom Rowland they were third with thirty nine. Anita and Phil Butcher were fourth with thirty seven after an amazing nine pairs countback!

The Seniors unfortunately met two defeats on the road this week when visiting Kingsdown; 1½-4½ with a win from Terry Carter/Colin Davies and a half from John Scott/Martin Sutherland and then at Bristol & Clifton - 2-4 wins this time coming from John Ellis/Andy Griffiths and Bryan Lewis/John Brooksbank.

One hundred and ten seniors played in the Centenary Trophy event. Overall winner was Martin Sutherland with forty three points. Division 1 went to Baden Wilkinson with forty points with Simon Grant second with thirty six and Martin Myers was third with thirty five. Division 2 went to Norman Squire with thirty nine, Jim Boyd was second with thirty eight and Keith Beasley was third with thirty seven. Division 3 saw Richard Evans take first prize with thirty five after a triple countback from Alan Edwards and Alan Williams.
