WILL the weather ever improve? Cold, wet and dreary seems to be the theme of 2025 at Mendip Golf Club so far with only two events to report on this week.

The Ladies held their weekly event which saw 56 play in a 9 hole Reverse Waltzing Matilda event. This was won by Caroline Laws, Maureen Charlton, Pauline Young and Jane Ball with 40 points, well clear of the field. There were then 4 teams on 35 points which after count back saw Elaine Kitchenham, Carol Curtis, Anita Butcher and Chris Down finish 2nd, Allison Rumming, Kay Clarke, Pat Roscow, Lesley Stone were 3rd, Caroline Simper, Debbie Godwin, Annette Jobbins, Suzie Howe were 4th and Diane Stanton, Pauline Williams, Susy Rudkin, Penny Oliver were 5th.

The Pro Shop ran a mid week Stableford which saw a win in Div 1 for Paul Panton with 37 points, Paul Cains was 2nd with 35, Peter Walford was 3rd with 32 and Brad Pike was 4th with 31. Div 2 went to Anita Butcher with a fine 36 points, Martin Roper was 2nd with 34, Ian Vincent was 3rd with 32 after count back from Tony Roddis.
