MIDSOMER Norton will be looking to bounce back after two successive losses when they play at home to Keynsham in the Bristol/Somerset Division of the West of England Premier Cricket League on Saturday, August 17 (12 noon).

Having lost to third-placed Golden Hill and Taunton Deane in the past fortnight, Midsomer Norton are now 32 points behind the leaders Downend who survived a big scare away to lowly Welington last weekend.

They eventually squeezed home by one wicket when chasing down 196 to win. At one stage Downend were 102 for six and seemingly heading for only their fourth defeat of the season.

Midsomer Norton are now only two points ahead of third-placed Golden Hill following their latest setback - only their fourth loss of the season.

Congresbury, who are in fourth place and are home to Wellington this coming Saturday, are a further nine points adrift and are still very much in with a chance of promotion.

The fight to avoid the drop is also hotting up with four sides involved - Weston super Mare, Wellington, Ilminster and Taunton Deane.

A fortnight ago the Deane looked certain to be going down, but they have won their last two matches - against Midsomer Norton and Weston - leaving them with a lifeline.
