METHODISTS gained a 72-run away victory over Chilcompton 2nds in their latest match.

Alex Nash and Mark Robinson made a good start for the visitors, with a steady 39 from the first ten overs, before an increased tempo saw them reach 96 at the twenty over stage. The home side's bowlers were accurate but brought few early scares for the batters so it was Julian Hawkins (1-21) who finally claimed the wicket of Robinson (25) in the 24th over. 

After a healthy 120 runs had been added by the opening pair, Nash was joined by Martin Woolley to put on another fifty for the second wicket, before Ish Fairoz joined his skipper, and the pair stepped on the gas. Having reached a well-crafted century, Nash was scoring at will, and he and Ish (22) put on a rapid 70 in just five overs, before a blistering thirty runs from the final over saw Nash reaching a spectacular 186 not out, and the Methodists posting an imposing 271-3. Glover (77) and Hawkins (73) were Chilcompton’s main scorers as Chilcompton finished on 199-8 with Ish Fair taking 3-18, Logan Eyles (2-21 and Charlotte Hazell 1-31.
