CHEW Valley are off the mark at last in Regional One South West - after they beat Sidmouth at home in a thriller.

Having lost their opening ten matches, Valley came good with a 27-26 victory over their Devon rivals.

In the only other league match in the division, Lydney were 65-5 away winners over Ivybridge.

Valley have a tough away match against fourth-placed Launceston in the league this coming Saturday. Table-toppers Exmouth are away to eighth-placed Royal Wootton Bassett while second-placed Barnstaple are home to third-placed Brixham.
