After a couple of weeks off due to the weather, the Seconds returned to action with a

commanding six-try victory at Landsdown.

The away side started the game aggressively, and made the breakthrough through prop Gareth Williams, who cut a fine line off the back of a ruck to cross the whitewash. Luke Murphy, who kicked superbly from hand and the tee, added the first of his five conversions. Norton ramped up the pressure and extended their lead almost immediately. After receiving the ball from kick-off, the ball was spun wide to winger, Stewart, who ran a superb try in from distance.

The away side now had the bit between their teeth, and secured the bonus point before half-time as centre Ben Matthews, who bullied the home side all afternoon, twice powered over to give Norton a healthy 26 point advantage at the break.

With such a commanding lead, Norton maintained their control and delivered a mature second half performance which brought them two more tries. First, Luke Murphy got a deserved try in the corner after a long period of attacking pressure, before Alex Davis scored in typical fashion, picking the ball off the back of a ruck and running in from just over thirty metres.

The away side were delighted with their performance, delivering some entertaining attacking play, and once again offering a resilient defensive performance that kept the home side off the scoreboard. Next week, the seconds will look to make it three wins in a row when they host Stothert and Pitt at Norton Down.
