Two players have dominated the most recent of events in the seniors section of Fosseway Golf Club. Competition Secretary Chris Appleton has been on outstanding form and he has been closely followed by Pat Cray.
The Over 70s Stableford for the Ted Cottle Trophy saw Appleton return a superb score of 43 points. Cray came in some six points further back together with Cyril Blacker who also had 37 points but was third on count back.
The pairs medal competition for the Fouracres Trophy then saw Appleton and Cray drawn together and continuing their good form they headed the final table with a nett 139. In second place came Seniors secretary Alan Jones and his partner Brian Phelps who recorded a nett 144 with Mike Weeks and George Thurston a further two shots behind on 146.
The final of the Seniors Championship for the Rupert Moore Trophy provided an exciting finish with Malcolm Tucker ending one up against Shaun Goodwin. The players were all square coming down the eighteenth but Tucker just edged the contest with a late birdie.
Fosseway Seniors section next play away to Whitley Golf Club on Thursday, August 1.
