PUPILS and staff at a Che Valley primary school have reasons to celebrate following the arrival of a brand new minibus which will help drive forward the standard of education.
Not only has Stanton Drew Primary School secured new transport thanks to local authority grants and the Stanton Drew Friends (PTA) group, but Ofsted has recently judged the school to be ‘good’ across the board following an inspection at the end of last year.
The new vehicle will expand access to breakfast and after-school clubs, ensuring that every child can benefit from extended after-school sessions. The new minibus will also mean that the federation will benefit from ongoing access to forest school, tennis lessons, swimming, local sporting events and many other opportunities.
Headteacher Tim Eustace said: "Stanton Drew is a wonderful school in the heart of its community. We are delighted to have been able to replace our bus, which will now ensure that wider educational opportunities are available for our pupils for years to come."
This investment is part of a wider transformation at the school, led by the new headteacher. A refreshed school branding reflects a renewed focus on community, learning, and growth.
Brand-new tables and chairs, funded by Stanton Drew Village Hall, have been introduced to classrooms.
Dan Spinney, the chairman of governors, said: "This is just the latest wonderful step forward for Stanton Drew Primary School and our Federation, as part of a wider agenda to develop and strengthen our offering to pupils and the wider community - and it's great to see how Mr Eustace and all the staff are really driving us forward and securing a sustainable future."
The school also said these “exciting developments” follow the positive Ofsted inspection in October.
“With these achievements, Stanton Drew Primary is going from strength to strength, ensuring a bright future for pupils and the wider school community”
