THE annual golf day in aid of the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal in the Seniors section of Fosseway Golf Club raised an excellent £325. Shaun Goodwin stole the honours with a Stableford score of 36 points . Three points behind came Pat Cray while George Thurston scored a total of 31 points to take third place.

There were also clear winners in the Winter bowmaker in the competition for the Vic South Trophy. Gerry Rowell, John Bendle and Malcolm Emery headed the field with a winning total of 72 points. In second place came Andy Flagg, Noel Chatfield and Thurston with a score of 69 points and they claimed the runners up spot on countback from Howard Nowell, Malcolm Tucker and Cray who also scored 69.

After a successful spell at the club Alan White has moved to pastures new in Wincanton but he finished in style joining up with Chatfield to win the Roger Tabb Cup with a nett score of 66. The pair finished well clear of second placed Nowell and Tucker who recorded a nett 72. In third place came Paul Ellis and Richard Sullivan with a nett 73.
