THE Ladies Texas Scramble at Mendip Golf Club saw a win for Jo Espley/Janet Light/Jenny Merrett/Edwina Willis with a net 63.

In 2nd place were Maureen Charlton/Allison Rummings/Marian Speed/Pauline Young with 65 and in 3rd place came Lally Gibson/Fiona Hassard/Bridget Rylance/Lizzie Wood with 66 after count back.

Longest Drive Competition saw a win for Chris Lindley in the Seniors Section and for Sam Pratten in the Mens.

Mendip’s mixed team enjoyed a fine 5-1 win over Kingsdown. Successful for Mendip were Linda Papadopoullos/Rob Thain, Pippa Brown/Clive Copp, Lizzie & Paul Wood, Isobel & Paul Panton and Min & Mike Woodward.

The Seniors played Enmore in their last home match of the season and ran out 5-1 winners. Wins came from Ian Whittamore/Andy Frampton, Ken Langridge/Henry Banks, David Braithwaite/Tony Scott, Ian Vincent/David Judge and Paul Wood/Tony George. This gives the team a home record of played 19 with 15 wins and only 4 losses. Very well done to seniors captain Tony Scott and his team.

One hundred and ten seniors played in the Autumn Salver event. Division 3 saw a win for John Brooksbank with 38 points, John Masters was 2nd with 35 and Stephen Lake was 3rd with 34 after count back from Jim Scott.

Division 2 went to Andrew Wells with 37, Phillip Bissett was 2nd with 36 after count back from David Peel and Adam Harris.

However the Salver winner from Division 1 was Steve Davis with 39 points. Well done Steve. 2ndi n Division 1 was Paul Merrett with 38 with Kevin Keene 3rd with 36. The big difference between Steve winning and Paul coming second was the 4th hole where Steve made an eagle 3 whereas Paul failed to score.
